Traid is a charity retailer on a mission to change fashion for the better. In the UK, we collect and curate second-hand clothes for resale in our London charity shops, giving fashion a new lease of life. Globally, we fund good causes that support and empower the people who make our clothes, from organic cotton farmers to garment workers.
Whenever a quality garment is donated to us, it comes through to our London warehouse and goes on to be resold in one of our charity shops on high streets across London. Behind the scenes, our team works hard to collect and sort donations, putting tens of thousands of items of clothing back into use every single week. Our work means we save these garments from going to landfill or incineration, whilst reducing the need to buy new.
To date we’ve put back 238 million garments into use, saving 647,447 tonnes of CO2 and 110 million m3 of water – and counting.
Our unique system for collecting and curating clothing donations means we’re able to maximise the amount of money we raise to support our partners working on projects improving the fashion industry – in farms, factories, and schools.
It’s through our generous community of donors, alongside our work to convert clothing donations into funds, that we can support and empower the people who make our clothes.
With your help donating, shopping and supporting Traid, we’re proud to have committed £7.5 million supporting 50 projects in over 30 countries around the world.
